Farmfoods - Value and choice all to help save on the shopping budget 🛒

The large store is fully stocked with their full range of branded and own-brand products including frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables along with a range of household and other items.

The store is open 7 days a week,
8am to 9pm Monday to Friday
8am to 8pm Saturday
11am til 5pm Sunday

The new Jollyes Seaham - The Pet People store is open 7 days a week,
9am to 7pm Monday to Friday,

Byron Place Are International Award Winners For Environment Excellence 🍏

Byron Place has been crowned winners of a prestigious International Green Apple Award 2026 for our ongoing work on Enhanced Biodiversity 🪴🌷🐝🐞

The Green Apple Awards recognise commitment to environment responsibility and significant ongoing improvements with implementation of world wide best practices.

Byron Place has implemented several environmental and sustainability initiatives
over recent years including our award winning recognition for enhanced biodiversity. We have significantly increased our plants and flowers, using recycled mulch, installed bird and insect houses and reuse rain and clean waste water around site.

In the past few years, we have also incrcresing our on-site recycling of plastics and food waste which is sent to anaerobic digestion and this has helped achieve our zero waste to landfill with 100% diversion.

We also strive to continually reducing our electricity and water consumption, such as having censored lighting and the installation of water saving devises in all the centre toilets.

We are incredibly proud to win this prestigious award and recognise and thank the commitment of our on-site teams and service partner's hard work, Panda Recycling UK in making the shopping centre and the Seaham community a healthier, cleaner place 👏👏👏

Despite this award's recognition for achievements, we won't stop there and will continually strive to improve.

Shout out to an Asda hero 🙌

Marshall from the Asda store didn't wait to be asked when a customer's own battery-powered mobility scooter broke down.

Marshall gave her one of the store's specially-adapted wheelchair trolleys and stayed with her and guided her round the store, making she sure got everything on her list. He then helped her through the checkout before booking and paying for a taxi so she could get home.

He said: "She was a lovely lady and was very grateful for my help. I just pushed her round the store and got things off the shelves that she needed. We had a good chat about all sorts of things. If my grandma ever needed help I just hope someone would do the same for her."

Marshall has been recognised and rewarded through the Asda's internal recognition scheme - plus the cost of the taxi reimbursed.

Well done Marshall and thank you.
