Hi, I’m Thalia- founder of Sparkle ✨
My background was in International Sales, working with hair and beauty brands. I loved many parts of the job, but after a difficult experience at work, I found myself questioning what I really wanted from my career.
With two children and a role that involved a lot of travel, I knew I wanted something that gave me more flexibility and allowed me to be more present for my family but I also wanted to build something I genuinely cared about.
That period became a real turning point for me and ultimately made me start thinking about creating something of my own.
My love of interiors started way before Sparkle, though. When my brother and I were growing up, we used to rearrange our bedroom practically every week! We also absolutely loved playing shop, so I suppose starting an interiors business one day brought those two things together perfectly.
I’ve always loved changing a space, moving things around and creating a completely different feeling without necessarily changing everything in it.
The idea for Sparkle really came during the renovation of our first family home. I was struggling to find the lighting I wanted. There was so much choice online, but I found myself having to search through lots of different websites and shops just to find the pieces I really loved.
That got me thinking… surely there could be one place where you could find beautiful, carefully chosen lighting without having to search everywhere for it?
So in 2021, Sparkle became official.
We actually started with more traditional lighting, but then one Christmas I introduced some decorative lights and they just started selling.
That was really the moment Sparkle began to evolve.
I realised there was something people loved about lighting that didn’t require an electrician, a big project or lots of effort.
Lighting you could simply add to a room, garden or event and instantly change how it felt.
And that led us to where Sparkle is today focusing on easy-to-install decorative lighting that helps you create effortless atmosphere in your home, garden or event.
Sparkle really is my passion, and I feel like there is still so much more I want to do with it.
I want Sparkle to become the place you come to when you want to make somewhere feel special whether that’s a cosy evening at home, dinner in the garden, a celebration, Christmas, or simply making an ordinary Tuesday night feel a little nicer.
Because beautiful lighting shouldn’t just be for Christmas or special occasions.
It should help you create something special in your home, all year round. ✨
