Thrilled to be part of this important and exciting initiative!

Last night we invited Selby-based businesses to join us for our High Street Vibrancy Research Sharing event.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from local businesses, organisations, partners and community representatives, all coming together to hear more about one of the most comprehensive pieces of research ever undertaken into Selby’s visitors and potential visitors.

There was a real sense of positivity in the room and some valuable discussion about how we continue building a vibrant future for Selby together. This research was the results of our Phase 2 funding from York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith. We announced earlier this week we have been successful for Phase 3.

Great news for Selby!

We’re delighted to announce we have secured £149,837 in new funding from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authorityand the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith, as part of the Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund.

This funding will further develop our Shop for the Future project.
In addition, we’ve been allocated £10,000 from Drax Group UK, to contribute to it too!

Through earlier phases of the funding programme, we’ve learnt that Selby already has a wide range of fantastic shops, events and activity, but it’s not always clear to people what’s here, this next phase is about changing that.

We’ll be working with businesses, partners and the wider community to develop a clear identity for Selby, alongside a campaign that encourages more people to visit, spend time here and make the most of what’s on offer. This is about building on what’s already here and making it easier for people to see it, we can’t wait to get started!

We hope everyone is enjoying the lovely spring weather as the school holidays draw to a close.

Just a heads-up that we will be taking a few days next week for a belated Easter weekend, so will be closed Monday and Tuesday in addition to our normal Wednesday.

We are open as normal today and tomorrow (Sat), and then reopen Thursday 16th at 9.30.
