🌸🌿 If you’ve never seen this incredible flower, don’t miss the chance to come and see it!
Today I finally got to see the amazing Victoria amazonica, the giant Amazon water lily, in bloom at Staunton Farm, Havant. 🌿💗
I’ve been coming here for three years, and today was the first time I’ve been lucky enough to see it flowering like this. 🥹✨
This incredible plant is native to the Amazon basin and is famous for its enormous floating leaves, which can grow up to around 3 metres wide! 😱🌿
And the flower is just as fascinating. It opens at night, starting off white, and then changes to pink the following night. The flowers are very short-lived, lasting only around 48 hours, which makes seeing one in bloom even more special. 🤍🩷
The giant Amazon water lily is one of the most spectacular plants you can see at Staunton Farm’s Victorian Glasshouse, and it usually blooms during the summer months. 🌸
So, if you’re in the area and you’ve never seen it, don’t miss the opportunity to come and see it for yourself! 🌿✨
Three years of coming here… and today I finally got to see this beauty in bloom. 🥹
