Who remembers the NatWest Pigs?! Do you know the story behind them?

The iconic collectable ceramic piggy banks were launched by NatWest on 5th December 1983 to encourage children to save. The family of five pigs were a reward for reaching certain savings milestones.

Woody, baby pig,was received when opening the account with a small deposit.

Annabel, sister pig, received when savings reached over £25.

Maxwell, brother pig, given at £50.

Lady Hilary, Mother pig, given when savings reached £75.

Sir Nathaniel, father pig, when savings reached £100.

Cousin Wesley was a late and rarer addition (1999) and was given for a £1,000 investment bond.

The NatWest pigs were originally produced by iconic British brand Wade Ceramics and with more than one million pigs issued, they have since become a popular and nostalgic collectable from the 1980s.
