We have 5 new Vault City Brewing sours in stock, including the return of a huge favourite of ours, Peach & Apricot Pastel De Nata, along with an amped up IMPERIAL version too at 8% 🍑🍮

We also have two spicy mango bangers, Mango Inferno and Molten Inferno with habanero and ghost chillies 🥭🌶️ Careful with those burns or you could end up Sooty*

Eagle-eyed story viewers may have spotted that I had a couple of days in sunny South Wales this week, and I was honoured to be allowed to visit in Caerphilly to get in Tom’s way while he brewed us a 5th birthday beer! Keep an eye out for “Arth”, coming soon 🐻🖤

Really looking forward to seeing how it turns out, but until then we have a few of his fine beers in cans to see us through the weeks while Arth is sat in tank.

So we are coming up to our FIFTH birthday and this year we certainly have a some things to celebrate and be thankful for!

We would love you to join us of course and we have some fun things planned:

Birthday beers from and will be released earlier in the week but we have plenty of these and many more to see us through the celebrations.

Friday night we will have some tunes from and friends

are making us some absolute bangers for a barbecue on Saturday (the dogs are on us) and yes we know it’s the England game at 10pm so we will be all wrapped up by then so you can watch the match! 🦁🦁🦁

There are way too many people to thank for this, but we are forever grateful to everyone who has made The Bear more than just a room full of beer.

TL;DR - I bought a building!

After 5 years of leasing I am delighted to be in the position to purchase the building at 89 Abbeydale Road and keep The Bear going for hopefully much longer.

Not much will change for you guys but that to me is an enormous achievement as a few months ago I was looking around for a new site, as my lease was coming to an end and I really thought The Bear as we know it might also be ending or moving on.

I have always wanted to stay here and carry on with something that I can tell means so much to the people who love it, I really don’t think you can create “community”, it comes to you. I’m really glad you all did ❤️

You’ve got this place for a while longer so please continue to support The Bear, and the team and I will keep doing our very best to keep the best beers coming to you.
