😱 A NEAR MISS! 😱

Oh my goodness… I think I used up a little bit of my luck today 😂

I’d left a batch of my corner bookmarks in the oven to cool and fully cure after baking them.

My daughter, not realising they were still in there, came along with her homemade cookies, turned the oven up to a MUCH higher temperature and popped them straight in. 🍪🔥

Cue me suddenly realising what had happened and expecting to find an entire batch of very crispy Lollygag bookmarks. 😂

But SOMEHOW… they’re absolutely fine! 🙌😭 Not burnt, not warped and not ruined. I genuinely cannot believe my luck!

And before anyone worries about the cookies 😂 — properly used polymer clay is non-toxic, although of course it's still good practice to keep crafting and food preparation separate and ventilate if clay is accidentally overheated. The bookmarks didn't burn or smoke, and the cookies are fine too. 🍪💜

I think we may have a new household rule:

CHECK THE OVEN FOR LOLLYGAG BEFORE COOKING. 😂😂

A little Lollygag update 💜

Due to my operation and taking a bit more time to recover than I’d hoped, I’m running behind with the August Lollygag newsletter.

🐝💛 I think the wheel chose the perfect winner…

I was already delighted when the random name wheel landed on Lesley Kalina, but the more I thought about Lesley’s entry, the more special it felt.

Lesley shared a video of volunteers working together to create a new outdoor garden space for cancer patients at a hospital through a charity project. 🌿💛

And that has given me an idea…

I’ve decided I’m not sending one Bee Rescue Cup — I’m sending two. 🐝🌸

One is for Lesley to keep for her own garden as our giveaway winner, and I’d also love to donate a second Bee Rescue Cup to the hospital garden from her winning entry.

It just feels like the loveliest way for this giveaway to come full circle — a little bit of Lollygag joy for Lesley, and another little spot where a tired bee can stop for a drink in a garden being created to bring some joy and peace to people when they really need it. 🥹💛

Congratulations again, Lesley — and thank you to absolutely everyone who shared their moments of joy in nature. This turned into something rather more lovely than I ever expected. 🐝🌿💕

🌸 My Botanical Collection is heading to the museum! 🌸

After lots of making, sanding, finishing, assembling and packaging, my new Lollygag Botanical Collection should be on the shelves and available to buy at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet later this week! 💜

Each piece features tiny pressed flowers captured between polymer clay and resin — and because of the nature of the flowers and the way each piece is handmade, no two pairs will ever be exactly the same.

The collection will be available in four styles:

🌼 Micro studs
🌸 Studs
🌿 Small dangles
💜 Mid dangles

Inspired by the tiny flowers growing wild around Sheffield and the Peak District — delicate, colourful and just a little bit different.

And this collection is extra special because it is exclusive to Sheffield Museums 🥰

I can’t quite believe I’m saying this, but very soon you’ll be able to walk into Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and find a whole Lollygag collection sitting on the shelves. 💜🌼
