It's a book festival curated by the city's independent bookshops, for book lovers.

Hey! Hate to be that guy again, but we’re closing today.

I remember laughing at my business advisor when she suggested installing CCTV at Novel. I’m so thankful that we did.

Our author event will be going ahead on Wednesday evening and custom orders will be ready for collection tomorrow/Wednesday at the absolute latest. The Xmas deadline for online/custom ordering is Thursday.

We are usually closed on Tuesdays, but Miriam and I will be opening tomorrow to make up from the lost day today.

I *HATE* to have to put this video out, but I’m discombobulated and it feels like it’s important to provide a little context.

Folklore, Feminism, and Writing in a Time of Catastrophe: An Evening with Evgenia Nekrasova

Join us in conversation with feminist author Evgenia Nekrasova, author of She-bear, Mordovian Cross and other novels and short stories exploring corporeality, power, violence, magic, and folklore in contemporary women’s lives.

Evgenia will read her short story She-Bear and share her insights on writing and enduring in times of catastrophe.

Evgenia Nekrasova (b.1985) is a writer, poet, and co-founder of the School of Literary Practices (since 2020), which has shaped a new wave of Russian-language writers. Despite publicly opposing the war, she continues to primarily reside in Russia, illustrating the complexities individuals often face in balancing their personal beliefs with their living circumstances.
