I just wanted to share with any new followers who I am - the face behind Zero - Vanessa

I am 23 & 10 months and can't wait to receive my vegan Archie the caterpillar cake for my birthday!

I'm a recent fashion graduate and have decided to hone my skills into zero waste pattern cutting and ethical fashion practices

When I'm not working on making trousers or uploading to Facebook, I love to spend time reading a good book, or being out in nature. I love being in nature, it's really meditative and I see it as a reminder of why I started the business

There are plenty of issues with the fast paced fashion industry that it's easy to get bogged down in it all. That is why I choose to focus on reducing the amount of waste caused.

A lot of talk is based around post shopping, i.e. how to cut down on spending habits, how to care for your clothes, how to keep your clothes in a closed loop system to reduce post consumer waste.

I love working with zero waste patterns, it's like working with a jigsaw with no box... and the outcome is always fun and surprising!

By working with zero waste patterns to create garments, it means that I can think of how to reduce waste from an earlier stage and incorporate waste reduction ideals into further stages of the business.

Do you have any ideas how the industry could reduce their waste issues in other areas?

How in-tune are you with your wardrobe? Are you still hording those clothes that your cousin gave you but aren't your style? What about those trousers that 'you'll fit in to one day'?

Your wardrobe is meant to be your best friend, you spend every day with it... so it should be there to make you feel confident and comfortable!

Having a capsule wardrobe can be a great way to keep on top of what you own, making sure everything fits you well, reflects your personality and each piece works in harmony together.

It's been a while since I've talked about Zero... Here's a little update for any newbies 🧡

Zero is an online store for any ethically curious woman looking for modern clothing alternatives to fast fashion.

The amount of waste caused by the fashion industry is inexcusable and is greatly damaging mother nature. This is why Zero provides clothing which is zero waste - specifically with the pattern cutting. We also save any cut threads, the parcels are sent in compostable bags, and we use natural fabrics.

The suppliers we work with are well researched and provide only the best quality fabric. The suppliers are also based in the UK as we want to support local communities. 🌾

Mother nature is important to us and we want to spread the message of her beauty. We are a new business and are always striving to do better than yesterday.
