Sewcial Sewing Sewing Lessons | Fabric Shop | Haberdashery | Quilting | Patchwork | Yorkshire I've been sewing now for over 50 years and teaching for 9.

Teaching sewing has always been a dream and to have that dream come true has made me very proud. As long as it can be sewn I can teach it, my passion is dressmaking, but I love patchwork and quilting. Something I never show is the lingerie I make! I now teach every Tuesday night (except some school holidays) at St John's Community Centre, Pen*stone. This is for every ability and type of sewing. In October 2023, I proudly opened a fabric and haberdashery shop here on the heart of Pen*stone.

This is the third quilt I have finished this week. Yes, you read correct, I have finished 3 quilts this week (taking me just over 6 weeks). This one is using the Charmed collection from Makower and is their free pattern Bewitchery. If you'd like to make one yourself, then I have the kit available in our fabric shop here in Pen*stone.

New Little Ladies, by Makower is now unwrapped and in stock at our beautifully stocked fabric and haberdashery shop in Pen*stone near Sheffield.
Bobby has already asked for a pair of dungarees! I'll keep you posted about how that goes.

Our classes are small, you learn at your own speed with your own sewing machine. You book the classes you can attend, great for shift workers or people with caring responsibilities. Lessons are tailored to your own needs, no working to a curriculum, as you will build on your own skills. You will not be made to make something you don't need, great for the blokes who don't need a skirt!

In this picture are people learning: bag making, dressmaking, patchwork, and bunting making. But what ever you want to learn to sew I have over 50 years experience and can teach it.

We had a great day yesterday at our monthly Sewcial Sunday. Lots of very different makes, from hedgehog beds, quilts, clothing and book covers. You are all a really inspirational bunch.
Next Sewcial Sunday is on 20th August, a great way to sit and sew with lots of like minded people.

What are you doing to keep cool? Staying in the shade, eating ice cream or having a dip in the kids paddling pool?
Me, I have a quilt (actually 3 quilts) to bind before next Wednesday. So here I am sat in my lovely fabric shop in Pen*stone with a quilt over my lap hand stitching the binding. I must be crazy!!!
Luckily it is only 22 degrees in here, but to help out your local haberdasher please bring an iced cold drink.
