We're proud to be a matchday sponsor of the White Roses Charity Rugby Team for the second Isaac Teal Memorial Cup, tomorrow at Wheatley Hills RUFC, Doncaster. Kick-off at 2pm, Brunel Road, DN5 8PT.

White Roses take on Team Teal in memory of Isaac, who the team lost in 2024 at just 21. Every pound raised goes to Weston Park Cancer Charity, who cared for Isaac and his family.

Most of you will have seen the news from China earlier this month. A workshop at the Huasheng fireworks plant in Liuyang exploded on 4 May. 37 people have died, 51 are in hospital, and one is still missing. Our thoughts are with their families and with the rescue teams who worked the site.

A lot of you have asked, reasonably, whether this is going to mean no fireworks for Bonfire Night. It won't. Most of what we'll be selling in November is already in the UK, on the water, or finished in a Chinese warehouse, ready to ship. New 2026 lines that hadn't started production yet are the ones most likely to land tighter than planned.

We've put together a calm write-up of what's actually happened, what the Chinese authorities are doing about it (including the "consumptive production" scheme that's been doing the rounds), and what it does and doesn't mean for UK supply this autumn.

Gender reveal season's properly underway. Two ways to do it, depending on whether you want it quiet or loud.

Handheld smoke grenades are silent. Pink or blue, about 60 seconds of colour, no bang. The dog stays calm, and the camera gets a clean shot.

If you want it louder, the Pink Mojo and Blue Mojo cakes fire all pink or all blue effects into the sky. Surprise Baby Boy and Surprise Baby Girl are the bigger versions of the same idea.

Wedding and garden party season is kicking off, and low-noise fireworks are coming up every week now.

The idea is the same colour and the same effects, but without the heavy reports. Useful if you've got close neighbours, anxious dogs at home, or an outdoor ceremony where you don't want to scare the horses (sometimes literally).
