Can you spot the fake?

Im posting this for all businesses in Sheffield. For awareness.

There is a massive influx of fake £20 notes in South Yorkshire.

Some of them are very good fakes 🙈.

Check, check and check again if you take cash payments in your business.

In the last 5 days I have had 3 clients try to pay me large amounts in cash for treatments and the £20 notes have all been fake.

Luckily I’ve spotted it and refused them, requesting card payments only. Out of those 3 people, I only personally believe that one of them wasn’t aware they were fake. Those other clients I believe knew they were fake are now banned from entering my premises and using our services.

I work so hard to provide for my family. This is not acceptable and won’t be tolerated.

Please don’t force me to go card only. Cash is king and I don’t agree with a cashless society but this kind of thing makes it extremely difficult for businesses like us to remain taking cash.

Please don’t be offended as all notes will be checked thoroughly. I’ve always done this and so has David but when I trust you like you trust me with your faces I have at times let things slip and not checked properly.

Some of these have the hologram, some have the brail but there are always tell tale signs.

Be vigilant.

It happened to me 4 years ago and I was down £800 and at Christmas time too.

If that happens again I will have no choice but to report the individuals to the police. It’s theft. If you are trying to pay for a treatment with counterfeit money you may as well walk out and not pay me at all.

Sorry to have to post negatively, I hate doing this but feel I have no choice.

Hope you all understand why I will be checking more thoroughly. Some of you may not even know you’ve been given fakes in shops or by other people.
