Now having gone from strength to strength in the ski and snowboard industry, our experienced staff can help you with any ski or snowboarding problem you may have. We are a family run business who love the outdoor lifestyle especially skiing and snowboarding! Our Sheffield based store has become renowned for keeping up with all the 'on trend' colours, styles and fabrics whether you are quirky or like to invent your own thing, maybe need some help with co-ordination, colour or merely advice on ski or snowboarding gear, we are here to help you. Dianne has experience as a personal shopper and clothing buyer, happy to assist customers with their clothing equipment and accessories. Dick's Boardstore has over 30 years experience in ski boot and snowboard boot fitting. An in house workshop on site too, for all your repairs and services to skis and boards. Our workshop manager/ski tech is a former Ski instructor having worked in many ski and snowboard resorts. He keeps all unwanted bits and bobs, if only he would throw them away! But if you are looking for a spare part Chris is the guy to speak to, he has more than likely to have them!! MAJOR STEP FORWARD FOR SHEFFIELD SKI VILLAGE REDEVELOPMENT

Plans to transform the former Sheffield Ski Village site have moved forward after New Zealand adventure tourism company Skyline Enterprises agreed a deal with Sheffield City Council.

The vision for Parkwood Springs includes a luge ride and family playground, with longer-term ambitions for a zipline and surf wave experience. The wider project is being supported through the council's £19.4m Levelling Up funding, while £12m has already been allocated for nearby junction improvements and a new road linking Oakham Drive with Vale Road.

The Ski Village opened in 1988 and was once a training ground for some of Britain's top Winter Olympians before closing following a devastating fire in 2012. Several attempts to revive the site have since fallen through, but Skyline says the pieces are now in place to deliver the development.

A public consultation is expected in September, allowing Sheffield residents and businesses to have their say before a planning application is submitted later this year.

🌳 PARKWOOD SPRINGS' FUTURE TAKING SHAPE AS MAJOR LEISURE PLANS MOVE FORWARD 🌳

One of Sheffield's most unique green spaces could soon be home to a major new leisure attraction.

Plans for the former Ski Village site at Parkwood Springs include downhill gravity-powered karting, a family play area, food and drink venues, and indoor attractions, with a zipline, surf-wave experience and even a new dry ski slope being explored for the future.

Local residents say they support investment in the area but want to ensure Parkwood Springs' wildlife, walking routes and stunning views are protected as the development progresses.
