Rudy Rucker: computer scientist, mathematician, cyberpunk pioneer, science fiction author and oh yeah great-great-great-grandson of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel!

I haven't read enough of his novels to see if there is any substantive conceptual connections between the two but both are obsessed with the infinite and the absolute so theres something there, maybe something in the hegel genes make one prone to speculative
Maybe hes secretly a product of some philosophical Kwisatz Haderach breeding programme!

Weird backhanded compliment to Yorkshire folk, but hard to disagree with the sentiment.

I think this is about a group of Sheffielders in the 19th century , who end up moving to Texas! Or have texans coming to visit Hallam Croft Hall
