The roads on the Somerset levels are prone to pot holes, heave and slip, mainly because they sit on top of peat which dries out in summer and holds water in the autumn and winter. Rarelv is there a nice silkv smooth ribbon of tarmac to ride a fast road bike. That's whv it makes sense to ride a gravel bike, with wide tvres so vou can navigate the lanes and farm machinerv, to the stability and handling when riding loose ground and dodging obstacles. We took the Bianchi Impulso out and about making use of the droves and quiet lanes on this baking hot bank holiday weekend. The bike rode brilliantly. If you like to ride on a varietv of surfaces and want the agility, road bike feel, with a bit of comfort thrown in, then we think the Impulso could be the ride are looking for.

Is your bike security marked? We are having a free bike marking event on Saturday 6th June. Pop over and get your bike securely marked and registered.

Bike marking is an effective way of detering thieves from stealing your pride and joy. Not only that , but it enables prospective buyers to check that the bike they're buying isn't stolen. And most importantly if you're unfortunate enough to have your bike nicked, and the police recover it, they can reunite it with you.

Bike marking is free, and available from 10am until 2pm on Saturday 6th June.

Unfortunately I need to close this Friday 22nd May.

Some of you may know that for the past year or so I have been in and out of hospital. I need to go back in, which is why I will be closed.

I'm not taking the day off or skiving! Those who know me know, that we work very long hours, and are often working even on the days the shop is advertised as a closed.

We will be back open on Saturday 23rd May at 9am.

Some of our customers like to get their bikes custom-made, handcrafted from traditional materials. This Italian-made Daccordi New Griffe was made just for Richard. He already has an awesome Griffe, but he wanted one for winter riding, so we had this winter model made. It has cool details like a top tube cable guide, extra room for mudguards, and hidden mounting points for them. The beautiful paint job will keep it looking great year after year. Richard, we can't wait to see your finished bike, and thanks for letting us help create another beautiful ride for you to enjoy on the Mendips and beyond.
