We’ve been testing on the new printer today!

We made a 3d swatch of some stonework which will look amazing on our 009 bridges. The print is a little glossy, but a coat of Matt lacquer will sort that. We’ll try a larger section tomorrow

And the maroon tiles are similar to the ones used on older London Underground entrances. We can print these from a photo, so we’ll have a look for a good image to copy and see what the results like

An overseas visitor, Andy, joined us at the studio day with

He’s working on a Pittsburgh layout and wanted to include the Greyhound bus station.

The signs ‘3d’ so thought it’d be a nice test for our new UV printer and it can create textures.

And 19 minutes later……..

We’re finding some more uses for our new printer.

Our bins normally would have decal for the logo and text. These have been applied individually and the gloss coated after drying, but with the new tech, we can do a batch of 20 in just a few minutes. They just need the wheels touched in and the lid applied and they’ll be good to go
