Today we turn five years old.

This milestone has somewhat crept up on us after a challenging year. Things are looking a bit different in the shop as we enter the next chapter.

We have recently had some stunning new shelving fitted in the main shop area, of which we are very proud. Lots more room for products and clearer display for browsing.

A new team who are brilliant. I can't thank them enough for all thier support and hard work, they have started to make it a true pleasure to come to work every day.

New traders, neighbours and customers coming into everyday making it such a fantastic community and a brilliant place to work.

But most importantly I would like to thank every single one of our regular customers. From conversations about the weather to the new recipes you are trying out for dinner there is always something to chat about.

At our core we are still here doing the same thing we have been doing for five years, serving you top quality, consciously sourced products with an aim to help you reduce your waste and discover new and invigorating ingredients.

To celebrate, if you bring in your own container to fill (bottle, jar, bag etc) then you will get a 5% discount off your entire shop for the whole of the Easter weekend.

Here's to five more years and many more 🥂

It's a chilly start to the new year of trading this week, but after 4 winters in I have learnt the best ways to beat the chill.

Firstly layer up; thermal base layer of leggings, vest and long sleeve top, thermal socks (new addition this year of thermal sock liners đź‘Ś) knit jumper/fleece and a little faux fur vest jacket, wolly hat, scarf and gloves and a good sturdy pair of boots.

Secondly always have a hot drink on the go and ideally something hot in a flask for lunch.

Thirdly and most importantly, keep moving. This one's easy to do because all of you keep us lovely and busy serving you, restocking shelves, putting away deliveries etc. But occasionally a lap around the market hall or a run up and down the stairs might be needed.

So if your heading into the market this week be sure to implement these key strategies.

We are open right through from today until lunch time on Christmas Eve so there is plenty of time to pop in for any Christmas pantry essentials or little bits and bobs perfect for a foodie hamper.

We will then be taking a little break and opening back up with regular trading hours from Tuesday January 6th.
