Update - Progress & Problems
I was hoping to be developing dice for sale by now but as we know a good plan rarely survive first contact. I have been developing my resin skills and am happy with what I have made.
However the problems have mainly been on the mold side, this started with some odd pattern appearing on the edge of the dice, this was due to cure inhibition of the silicone and the agent used to hold the master dice in place. I fixed this issue with different sticking agent.
Then I had an issue with the face of the dice that joins the mold cap having a bit of resin clip over the edges. This I was hoping was removable in the sanding phase and was, with exception of the D20, I had to remove so much material that the dice edges were not symmetrical. I believe this was an issue in the mold creation which caused some tearing of the silicone when the cap was made.
So here I am creating the next mold with another attempt to fix this issue. It's a learning curve for sure but importantly I was to ensure 3 main things.
1) I remain completely transparent with all of my followers and customers.
2) I strive to produce the best product possible for you all.
3) I learn from these mistakes to ensure that the products get better as we go on this journey together.
