Who said spring wooden toys have to be bright, bold colours and laced with plastic?! We certainly didn't! 🌿

The Spring Egg Stacker is restocked ready for the season! 🥚🌼

The beautiful Spring Egg Stackers are 16cm high and 12cm wide. Made from 2.8cm thick solid Ash wood.

They are chunky, solid, safe (UKCA & CE tested) & beautifully unique wooden toys.

Handcrafted from the highest quality materials and finished with a delicate hand painted detail in either Natural Brown or Teal.

They have been designed to be used in a variety of ways, making them perfectly open ended. Use to stack and promote fine motor skills, or use unassembled in various ways throughout your play set ups.

As with all of our wooden toys they have been stringently safety tested, made with locally grown wood and finished with the highest quality plant based, child safe stains.

We know we've been quiet and we've been quiet at the WORST possible time really.
Orders are at an all time high, we are getting new followers daily and lots of tags and shares!
We should be using this time to really enhance our social media even more!

BUT... (and it is a big 'but') for those of you who don't know, we recently welcomed a new little person to our family as we embarked on our journey as Foster Carer's.
I obviously cannot share details on here or specifics, but we've spent a considerable amount of time in hospital this week when we'd usually be working.
It has been an extremely difficult, harrowing and scary week.

I think there's a total of 3 orders that will be affected by a slightly longer turnaround due to this and I've messaged those people. I really do thank you for your understanding on this, you've all been amazingly supportive ❤️

We are still here, we are still working away and other than those 3 orders, everything else will be out on time (just please allow us the full 3 weeks) if you want an update on your order specifically, please message us.

We will be returning to our usual working schedule this week, working around our 2 boys as always.

Thank you for all your lovely messages asking if we are OK, we are sorry we can't share more.

All I will say is, I'll be campaigning for better children's mental health services for the rest of my life. I am forever changed after witnessing the lack of support/funding/resources and something needs to change. ❤️🙏

Let's Talk "Open Ended"...

Maria Montessori favored “real” toys made of natural materials like wood because they're healthy, safe, and inspiring for children.

A simple, beautifully-crafted wooden toy can capture a child's interest without overwhelming them, and inspire their imagination without directing it.

Open ended toys are tactile, wood is a perfect example of this.

Our toys promote hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Our toys are "chunky" which
therefore enhances the vestibular/proprioceptive senses.

We've been told our toys look like home decor, they do! And for good reason!

True, traditional toys should immerse children into their environment.
They should compliment pages on books, enhance play scenes and small world set ups and fit seamlessly and beautifully into the setting in which they are placed.

Some people may look at our toys and wonder what their purpose is?
What can be done with a free standing fir tree?
To them we ask, "what can't?!"

Immediately you've got a forest, a camp, a tactile resource to support learning.... The possibilities are endless.

Our toys may not move, beep or roll, but believe me, they do so much more.

The Mini Fir Tree 🌲

Did you know...

Fir trees in Celtic Mythology represent Truth, Honesty, Strength, Hope, and Wisdom?

They have a unique prediction ability, with their cones opening up in the heat of the sun, but always closing before rain.
Fir trees remain green throughout the year, long after the surrounding deciduous woodlands have lost their leaves. For this reason, the Fir (along with other evergreens like Holly) is a symbol of hope in a dark winter.

We had so much fun creating a smaller version of our best selling large fir tree.
These mini beauties will enhance any small world scene stunningly. 🌿
They are 7cm tall.
& suitable from 12 months. We hope you love them.

The Forest Bear & The Moonlit Bear 🐻🌿🌲

Ahh it's so lovely to finally share these.
We wanted a way to really celebrate the natural beauty of the wood, as it's just so gorgeous in its raw state.

I think we've achieved it!

There's absolutely nothing other than wood and some natural plant-based sealent here. That's it. Literally nature in your child's hands.🌲

I hope you love this new style of design as much as I love creating it, as it'll be appearing on lots of other new toys coming soon 🌿🤗

(Oh and for those of you who love watching our painting stories, the wood burning is just as satisfying!) 👌🔥😉

Christmas Eve!

We just wanted to say thank you for all your support this year.
2021 has been hard for lots of small businesses and we are no exception, but every time my phone "bings" with an order it spurs us on and motivates us to grow 🌿

The business has been my distraction in what has been a really difficult year for many, so thank you for giving me a creative outlet to focus on.
Making beautiful things really is a great therapy.

We've grown so much over the last 12 months, despite not having big "followers" we have really HUGE support.
Repeat customers tells us all we need to know💚
Our story views and responses are really huge for such a small following and that means the world. It means you like what we do, are interested in watching our things be created and like watching the odd dollop of family life too. 🥰

2022 holds big things in store for us.
For such a small business, who works around their tiny toddler family, things are a juggle!
But we'll be worker harder than ever in the new year to get our stock built up... watch this space as our stock may be hitting some familiar places very soon 😉
