A Place Called Perfect was named Best Crime Novel for Children (8-12) at the CrimeFest Book Awards and Being Miss Nobody won the award for Hillingdon Secondary Book of the Year! I am thrilled to see that this fabulous book is part of the selection of Titles for World Book Night. The theme this year is mental health awareness. After The Fire was written by Will Hill and published by Usborne last year. I found it absolutely gripping, telling the story in 2 parts concurrently- what actually happened and how the survivors, in particular the main character, deals with it. I have just finished reading a great book by Holly Bourne called It Only Happens in the Movies. This has plenty of cliches and lots of fun but is not a typical romance. It covers the anguishes and complications of love, s*x, family and friendship. I would definitely recommend it for older readers.

Many schools organise events around World Book Day, including "Ready Steady Read" with Usborne Books. I am delighted to be involved again this year. .
