Last couple years I've made a conscious effort to read more female authors. I don't why my personal book collection was 99% male when I've stocked so many great female writers in the shop.

Alice Evelyn Yang's A Beast Slinks Towards Beijing is my book of the year so far and I'm really enjoying this one too.

"Monday's always a weird one on the 'Cop.
Most of the shops are closed so on the one hand there's the assumption that no one is out shopping.
On the other hand, I've counted 300+ people walk past the shop today (admittedly around 50% of them are kids from the college) so there ARE plenty of people around.

Of those 300+ people, 4 came in the shop, and of those 4, 2 spent a little bit of money. Remember them numbers kids when you're reading the Obits!"

Very often I'll be standing in the shop with a thumb up my ass [ 'a' thumb? - intrigued Ed] and !!!!JUST LIKE THAT!!!! a massive whacking bolt of lightning will hit me on the bonce, and in a whiff of singed hair a vision will reveal itself to me...

I'm in my excellent shop, a smorgasbord of weird and wonderful, informative and educational books.

Beside me is an easel, and a box of wax crayons, and on the easel is a riotous scribble of a picture. My MOOD DOODLE, available for sale/psychological examination/admissible evidence at the end of every working day.
