Just in: Two Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/2 Sonnars, both collapsible, both in Leica thread mount l and both with different histories:
No. 2805415. A post-war lens finished on 13 September 1947, part of a run of just 100 put into L39 rather than Contax. The story goes that the Soviets running Jena wanted some Sonnars in Leica fit for their own use. Red T coating, original Zeiss collapsible barrel, infinity lock.
No. 2232382 — the 'large head' lens. A pre-war optical block, left in stock through the war and finished afterwards in a genuine post-war Zeiss LTM mount. No coating, and the softer, more open rendering that makes uncoated Sonnars glorious for black and white.
