✨BUSINESS AWARDS✨

The last few days I have been struggling to find my words, which when I am such a chatty person myself is unheard of. But I have some exciting news to share...a few months ago we were selected as finalists in the Exmouth Business Awards!

I would like to start by saying a huge congratulations to all those nominated, finalists and winners. Although not all businesses were in attendance, the event is a beautiful reminder of everything that makes Exmouth special. Of the community we have all created, through the independent high street stores and local hard working people. It was wonderful to meet so many at the awards, so I would like to say a special thanks to the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce for putting the event together, it really was a delightful evening.

I am still shocked to have been finalists in 3 of the 9 awards. Particularly when there are so many amazing local businesses and hard working people to consider, I truly didn't believe we would win. However, I am beyond proud of my small business winning the 'Independent Retailer' of the year. AND to win 'Young Entrepreneur' myself was honestly a pinch me moment.

So, I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that supports us. Whether its family, friends, customers, local businesses or simply passers by that recommend us, you mean everything and we are so so grateful. And from myself, a thank you to my family for always believing in me, my team for pushing me and my friends for supporting me, I wouldn't be who I am without you.

🧡THANK YOU🧡

Like many other small business owners I have moments of self doubt. Running a business comes with many challenges, particularly in the high street and it's crazy how much of a workload you take on when it's yours. Honestly, there aren't always the hours in the day and I sometimes feel I'm failing. Particularly when social media sets a precedent that you can do it all, showing off huge successes which leave you questioning if you are capable.

However, it's days like these which show me I am. Even in my hardest weeks, I put my all into work because I truly love what I do. While I may not be feeling my best I am happy that I can still do my best for my lovely customers. Two of which popped in this week with cards and Prosecco! While this is of course not necessary, I am SO grateful, they don't know it but it couldn't have come at a better time.

I think people are quick to criticise and slow to celebrate and this definitely deserved some celebration. So, to my lovely customers thank you, you are the reason I do what I do. I am honoured to have such good relationships with each of you and am very grateful for your ongoing support. We honestly wouldn't be here without our community which I am proud to be a part of.

🧡🧡🧡

‼️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

Our opening hours are changing! For the next week our Sidmouth store will be open from 9.15am until 2pm. Don't worry, this only applies to our Sidmouth store and we will resume our standard hours on the 10th of August.

As a family we have always been local, but realised this year how little we have been able to participate in Folk Festival. We'd really like to enjoy it this year so have decided to close 2 hours earlier than usual so that we might get involved. As a family business we so rarely get time off together, this seems like a golden opportunity!

Should you need us outside of these hours we will still be local and can pop in with emergency requests. Alternatively our Exmouth and Colaton Raleigh branches will be open as usual. Should you need anything please don't hesitate to pop over and see them, call them on 01395 487172 or email us at [email protected].

Please note we are now FULLY BOOKED for scooter hire, walking aids and bathroom items but have a few wheelchairs still available.

We hope you all have a lovely week and enjoy the Folk Festival!

What a beautiful day it's been! 🌞

While we are grateful to live and have shops by the sea it's lovely to see our Colaton Raleigh unit shine. On a warm sunny day like this it can be tricky to get into our seaside towns, particularly as parking is so limited. Our Colaton Raleigh store offers an incredible amount of car parking and is very close to both Sidmouth and Exmouth.

The Sawmills is a perfect place to visit, with so many shops in the industrial site. So, if you are passing through Colaton Raleigh on a day out or wanting to visit one of our stores but need close parking, please come and see us.

We open here Monday to Friday, however, if you are looking for something specific it is advisable to book an appointment on 01395 487171.
