A great 19th century mahogany chest with an arrangement of two short over three long drawers with molded edges.

Each smooth running drawer has wonderful recessed turned mahogany handles.

The generous top has gently moulded corners and the original oak panel back whilst all raised on a platform base.

In wonderful untouched country house condition.

This chest displays beautifully with excellent colour and grain throughout.

A grand Belle Epoque period deconstructed armchair with an oak frame and mahogany turned front legs, raised on original brass castors.

This beautiful armchair features a strong high back, scrolling arms and an inviting wide and deep seat.

The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid oak frame for upholstery with a restored coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added ready for new upholstery. An oversized custom made deep feather cushions have been made to accompany the seat adding to the sumptuous feel of the chair.

The original horse hair stuffing remained in the chair for the restoration of this project.

A charming Victorian mahogany window seat of diminutive proportions with a simple broad seat accompanied with turned bolsters to either end.

Raised on beautifully turned legs and supports.

Due to the smaller than average size of the seat it would be perfectly situated at the foot of a bed or even in a dining room setting.

The seat has excellent colour and depth on firm standing.

A small pair of interlocking chaise longue of good proportions and of good quality in the country house manner.

The chaises have comfortable button backs leading to a low buttoned armrest with a deep and wide comfortable seat.

The pair are finished on beautifully turned front ebonised mahogany legs and finished on brass cup castors.

The chaises have been fully restored and stripped back to the solid beech frames for upholstery with a refurbished coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings. The seats have been complemented with squab cushions with piping detail to the edges.

The chaises are of small proportions making the pair perfect in size for a bedroom or a smaller space.

This beautiful pair are now ready for new clothes as desired.

A superb chunky late Georgian period butchers block in elm.

This characterful sturdy block exudes timely warn dents, cuts and scrapes from years of cleavers coming down heavily onto its surface.

The elm block has two sixty centimetre screw bolts going through the sides that connects the legs on both sides with screw bolt fixings. Four chunky legs support the top and we assume that the castors were added at a later date for easier manoeuvrability.

Each end of the top has a series of three wooded turned pegs for hanging either implements or cloth etc. whilst work was carried out on the block.

Due to its attractive size and wear it would work in a variety of settings and fit most kitchens. It would certainly make a unique console table with plenty of history and presence. It is rare to find butchers blocks from the Georgian period in elm, it was built to last and has not suffered at the hands of the blocks from the 20th century that were heavily cut down at the end of each shift for cleanliness purposes.

Pointers Antiques have completed no restoration of this piece and it remains in original condition as found.

Reassuringly heavy and ready to serve.
