Toyota has launched its new electric scooter, the C+walk. The new three-wheeled electric vehicle is designed for those with limited mobility in mind.

The C+walk is capable of travelling eight and a half miles on one single charge due to its removable lithium-ion battery. It requires two hours to recharge from 0% to full and has a maximum speed of six miles per hour. Bringing in modern technology to the electric scooter, the vehicle has a feature that detects obstacles in its way. With a beeping system that alerts the rider, the user can avoid a collision or slow down the vehicle should anything be in its path.

Initially, Toyota envisioned the scooter to be useful for elderly workers to travel to-and-from areas in larger facilities including terminals, warehouses and . But, the Japanese government has recently certified that the C+walk can be used on public roads, thus broadening their target market. The C+walk will be available at Toyota dealers in Japan starting next month and the scooters will be retailing for approximately $3,100 USD. There is no word on when the scooters may arrive in the U.S. or other countries globally.

Unagi's Latest E-Scooter Claims to be the Smartest on Earth, Is Also Light and Powerful

When an e-scooter manufacturer calls its product “the smartest scooter on Earth,” you just have to see what that’s all about, which is probably what the company aimed for, with such a description. So kudos to Unagi’s marketing department. Model Eleven is the latest two-wheeler developed by the company and it plans to revolutionize urban transportation.

While some think of Unagi as being the “state of total awareness,” as believed by the Ross character in “Friends,” others simply think about the freshwater eel (which is the Japanese meaning of the word). And yet another category associates the word with those fancy, high-end wheelers that are touted as the Teslas of electric scooters.

Unagi is a brand that’s made quite a reputation on the micro-mobility market with its Model One e-scooter, which was launched three years ago and has sold in tens of thousands of units worldwide, as boasted by the company. Now Unagi introduces the Model Eleven, claiming to have reinvented electric transportation.

The Model Eleven electric scooter is described as being light, portable, powerful, comfortable, and of course, extremely smart. It is made of a Switzerland-designed long carbon composite, and Unagi boasts of the vehicle being the lightest full suspension e-scooter, weighing 32 lb (14.5 kg), with other such vehicles weighing more than 45 lb (20 kg).

Unagi’s scooter comes with an integrated audio system with Google directions, and scooter-first indications are being offered via the dedicated app, compatible with both iOS and Android. In order to use the feature, you have to select your desired destination, place the phone in your pocket and let the app do its thing.

Minimalist-Looking Komeet X9 E-Scooter Promises a Range of 62 Miles on a Single Charge

There’s an ongoing race for range on the e-scooter market, which is why the Komeet X9 got our attention with its claimed 62 miles (100 km) on a single charge.

We couldn’t find much information about X-Technology, the brand behind the Komeet X9, other than it seems to be based in London.

The 2021 Komeet X9 is described as a luxury model and promises an impressive range, depending on the battery capacity you opt for. There are three versions to choose from: a 36V -10.4 Ah battery, which offers up to 28 miles (45 km), a 36V-15.6 Ah battery with a range of 44 miles (70 km), and the 36V-20.8 Ah version that boosts that range to 62 miles (100 km) per charge.

Batteries are easy to remove and take from five to seven hours to fully recharge, depending on the capacity you opt for.

In terms of looks and features, the Komeet 9 wants to be practical and compact, with a folding lock design that allows you to easily transport it by bus, car, and so on. It has wide handlebars, and a wide deck, ensuring the rider is both comfortable and has good control of the vehicle. The Komeet 9 is equipped with 10-inch-wide tires.

When folded, the escooter measures 43.7 x 19.7 x 21.2 in (111 x 50 x 54 cm). Because it folds to the back, its height is the only one to modify when unfolded, with the e-scooter measuring 48.4 in (123 cm) instead of 21.2 in (54 cm).

A generous HD LED screen displays the speed and remaining battery.

The Komeet X9 has three riding modes (pedestrian, standard, and sport) and a top speed of 25 mph (40 kph). It comes with an IP54 rating, making it suitable in light rain and dusty environ
