Life is getting back to normal, Spring is (almost) in the air and our shops are getting busier with sales and donations.

Did you know we have three shops - Newmarket Street, Skipton, Crosshills and "The Shop on the Corner" in Skipton.

We are looking for new volunteers to help support our work providing community based transport around in and around Skipton and Craven.

This Sunday is our evening and formal wear sale. We've got a selection of coats, jackets, dresses and shirts that will complete any Christmas party. We also have some more Secret Santa gifts, so join us this Sunday at the Skipton Christmas market to take a look!

This first Sunday is our Games & Gifts day, we have a huge selection of board games, interesting gifts and warm coats available. Whether you're looking for the perfect gift, some nice clothes for winter, or something to play on Christmas Day, get here early or you might miss out.

Almost all of our games are on a special £5 sale as well!

The Skipton Christmas Market is on over the next few weeks, and we're having a sale for the first two Sundays of December. If you're looking for some great deals on high-quality, re-used and environmentally friendly gifts and clothes, come by while you're browsing the market. We're also taking part in the event created by the Charity Retail Association, so if you want to make an impact on your community, take part and tell us what you got.

'We're celebrating the Skipton Christmas Lights at The Shop on the Corner! We'll be opening this Sunday from 10:00-16:00, so if you're looking to do some shopping after the , we’re open with some great gifts available.

Welcome to our new site for the Shop on the Corner.
What or who are we? We are a new venture and shop supporting Community Transport in Skipton & Craven. We are at 73 High Street, Skipton (the former dry cleaners on the corner with Newmarket Street).

Are we a 'charity' shop? - yes, we are, but hopefully with a difference. We all know that we need to get better at slow fashion, reusing and recycling wherever we can. Our parent charity, Skipton & Craven Action for Disability, has been recycling for 40 years, long before it became fashionable, to the point where office furniture, computers and printers were generally second hand and donated. That way, they provided over 20,000 passenger journeys each year to people in and around Craven, needing to get to essential appointments.

We wanted to create a shop that follows this ethos of reuse and recycle, but one which presents stock in a quirky environment, and where people can buy designer items, or vintage/ older items on their High Street.

And so the Shop on the Corner was born.

Please come in and say hello, browse, and let us know what you think: every item bought goes to support people in our community get around. Most of our income is spent in and around Skipton businesses, and SCAD employs 13 people from within the community in shops and as drivers. We also support the community with volunteer roles - especially for young people doing Duke of Edinburgh or college work experience.
