Ancient British Vernacular Soul for the Garden ✨

Introducing an incredibly rare, highly tactile Early 18th Century Primitive Hand-Carved York Stone Garden Planter (c.1700–1750, potentially earlier).

Hand-hewn from a single, solid block of native Yorkshire sandstone, this formidable 19kg piece perfectly epitomises the raw honesty of early British utilitarian stone carving. It boasts a wonderfully imperfect, naive silhouette that highlights its ancient, non-industrial origins.

The real magic is on the inside, which remains entirely untouched, showcasing the deep, visible hand-chiselled tool gouges left behind by the original mason over 250 years ago. Having spent generations exposed to the British elements, the exterior has developed an exceptional patina rich with deep charcoal shading, mineral iron spotting, and organic lichen.

In a world of mass-produced composition stone, this asymmetric, blocky vessel acts as a true piece of vernacular sculpture, bringing an ancient gravity that anchors any high-end garden or interior scheme.

Period: Early Georgian / Queen Anne (Circa 1700–1750)

Material: Solid, hand-dressed native Yorkshire Sandstone (York Stone)

Features: Visible hand-carving chisel marks to the interior

Weight: 19 kg

✨ JUST IN: The Ultimate Architectural Statement Pieces ✨

Introducing an imposing pair of Victorian Gothic Revival Limestone Tetramorph Corbels

Originally hand-sculpted to support a heavy vaulted timber roof or structural stone arch in a historic North Yorkshire church, these monumental blocks represent the symbols of the Evangelists: the Winged Lion of St. Mark and the Ox of St. Luke.

Hand-hewn from solid, dense British limestone, they feature breathtakingly deep undercutting, dramatic shadows, and an authentic, naturally varied stone patina that carries the literal soul of the Victorian Gothic movement.

Whether placed on gallery blocks to anchor a grand hallway, used as substantial bookends, or incorporated into an architectural fireplace scheme, they offer an uncopyable layer of narrative, texture, and scale.

Period: High Victorian / Gothic Revival (Circa 1860–1880)

Material: Solid, hand-carved British limestone

Make a monumental statement with ‘Proud’ (2026), a commanding contemporary Neo-Expressionist portrait by celebrated British artist Harry Charles Tim.

A core showcase piece from our recent exhibition at the prestigious Battersea Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair in London, this work is a powerful inclusion in the artist’s highly sought-after 'Longhead' series. Utilizing a stylized elongation of the form that nods to Modigliani, 'Proud' captures an image of quiet resilience and dignity.

The brilliant, layered palette of sulfurous yellows and intense crimson lips cuts sharply through a profound, velvet-black void. Sourced directly from the artist and in immaculate gallery condition, it represents a definitive investment work as Tim's international profile continues to rise rapidly.
