Found five minutes, filled it with Christmas 🎄

Nicola was waiting on something, so naturally she started tagging the Christmas chocolates. That's how the season starts round here.

Little chocolate soldiers and crackers, the right size for a stocking, a teacher's thank-you, an advent pocket, or a secret santa that doesn't feel like an afterthought.

Look who's back! 💜

Some of you will remember Willow from behind our counter. She's away at university now, but she's home for a few days and couldn't resist calling in for a nosy.

Naturally we made her earn her visit and choose a favourite. She's gone for one of the flower posies by Jo at H***y Tonk Glass — made from Tiffany glass, every one slightly different, and they catch the light on a windowsill all year round. No watering, no dropped petals.

Our Friday pick 🐑

'Rest a while', a tiny needle-felted Dales scene by B. Christison. A sheep settled in the grass, a wall, a hillside going soft in the distance. All of it made from wool, worked with a needle until it becomes a picture.

It's small enough for a shelf and detailed enough that you keep finding things in it.

Say hello to JustNow Designs, whose cards make us laugh every time we restock the rack. Sheep in sun hats taking afternoon tea. Sheep in flat caps. A birthday message in broad Yorkshire.

There are tractors, Land Rovers, cows and wheelbarrows too, for anyone whose sense of humour is slightly less woolly.

Pop in and have a flick through. It's hard to leave with just one.

Shortlisted for Retailer of the Year at the Skipton Business Awards 2026 ⭐

We didn't come home with the trophy, but we did come home with sore feet and a lot to be proud of.

Huge congratulations to Emily at Dogsbody and Friends, Pet Supplies , who took Retailer of the Year and thoroughly deserved it. A brilliant independent and a brilliant result for Skipton.
And to Victoria Coleman Design who was shortlisted with us.

Nicola has picked this week's favourite, and she's allowed to be a bit biased, she made it herself.

In her words: "You can see all the places you want to visit and put your mementos of your travels in one place."

Friday Staff Pick: Autumn in a Pendant 🍂

We are absolutely in love with the seasonal colours on this glass cabochon pendant by Liz at Indigo Star.

Before turning to jewellery, Liz was a librarian. Now she crafts beautiful pieces designed to help people express their connections. We have a whole section of her work in the shop, and we promise that picking just one is the hardest part!

It's the first of October, which means one thing here. 🎃

The Halloween shelf is up! Crocheted pumpkins, a rather grumpy ghost, a light-up witch in a bottle, little glow-in-the-dark keyrings and one slightly unsettling voodoo doll. All handmade by our makers.

These little ones tend to disappear quickly, so don't leave it too long.

Meet the Maker: Sophie 🐾

Sophie makes these gorgeous framed pebble pictures, and every single one is put together by hand from real pebbles. No two are ever quite the same, because no two pebbles are.
Silver, ruby and golden anniversaries, just married, new babies, love you Mum, and a lovely run of pet ones. There's a robin piece too, for when loved ones feel near.

Framed pictures from £15, hanging decorations £6, cards £4 and she'll personalise them with names and dates.
