Wow 6 months already!
This weekend we are celebrating 6 months of the Marsden branch being open! 🎉🍾🥂

Our shop in Marsden is still evolving, hope you are all enjoying being in this journey with us. It’s not just about books. Have you been lucky enough to try some of our delicious cheeses yet? 🧀

Every day, we serve a wide variety of speciality cheese on our platters and tasting plates, alongside high-quality charcuterie and a selection of tasty antipasti.

And now, due to popular deman, we are selling the cheese to take away! Individually wrapped and ready to go home with you.

Our incredible selection includes: Sage Derby, Sticky Toffee Cheddar, Goats cheese with honey and flowers, Montognolo Blue and many more.

To say thank you for your support this far we will be offering 6% of ALL books and antipasti tasters and boards for the whole weekend.

We will also be handing out prizes for the 6th, 36th and 66th customer who makes a purchase!

We have some perfect new book releases to enjoy -
John Boyne is one of my favourite authors, so I can’t wait to get stuck into The Elements, a stunning kaleidoscope of storytelling in which four interconnected lives, each representing a different perspective on crime 💦💦🪨💨🔥described as impactful, provocative, an epic read.

And to compliment some other spicy new reads we have a cheeky cocktail offer available in our Marsden shop❤️📚🍹🍸

Our final two spring author events, ranging from comedic legend to a spiritualist detective.

On Thursday, 21st May at 6pm meet David Scott, Manchester based author/poet/musician and BBC presenter talking about his latest book, ‘Rebel in Disguise’, which explores the life of comedic legend Caroline Aherne.

On Wednesday, 10th June at 6pm meet Jess Kidd, talking about the latest instalment in the Nora Breen historical murder/mystery.

Both events are in our Marsden shop, tickets are £7.50, which includes a free hot drink and discount off the book. These can be purchased in either shop or via our website A New Leaf Bookshop.

A new week calls for something to look forward to… 🧀🍷

After the amazing success of our first Cheese & Wine Thursday, we’re already gearing up for the next one — and trust us, you won’t want to miss it.

My new favourite cheese is the sticky toffee pudding, dessert and cheese in one and our sage derby.

Whether you’re planning a catch-up with friends, a relaxed date night, or just fancy treating yourself, it’s the perfect way to ease into the weekend.

Spaces are limited and our last evening filled up quickly, so we’d definitely recommend getting booked in early to avoid missing out.

This Friday, 17th April, is our first book swap evening in the Marsden shop. It’s a charity event for the @&Piano

Bring along five pre-loved books, Pay £5 to get in and swap these 5 books with any other pre-loved books. We have special offers in our discounted book room and a raffle.

Live music by the very talented Chris Pulley.

The event is running all evening from 5.30pm until 8.30pm and I’m putting a lot of my own pre-loved books into the mix.

If like me you have been fascinated with the progress of Artemis II crew travelling further from Earth than anyone before, you will be transfixed with our next author evening on Thursday 9th April, 6pm in A New Leaf, Marsden.

Cecile Pinn’s second book, Celestial Lights follows an astronaut and his crew on a ten-year space mission to the distant moon, Europa. It’s a breathtaking story of fate, love and sacrifice. One of the most atmospheric reads I have devoured in years.

We have a few tickets still available, £7.50 with a free drink, which can be bought from either of our shops or our website📚.
