I am a IT Tech / Network Manager with over ten years experience in the IT industry. I am Microsoft qualified in Server 2003 / 2008 as well as Windows XP / Vista / 7 as well as networking technology s, so I have the experience and know how to take on any IT fix, repair or setup.

This laptop was dropped off by a business I work with. It was liquid damaged and they wanted the data off it as they didn’t have the bitlocker key for it. If we could revive it enough to boot this data could be rescued from it. Unlucky for them the actual PCH of the CPU had an internal short, so it was game over on that front. I did manage to get the bitlocker id from the drive though so they can now at least search all of their systems for it to find the unlock key. Which I suppose is easier than a wild goose chase with nothing to look for.

These two hotline Gemini electric fence energisers were sent in by a customer. One unit had poor output and the other was a 80 and the customer wanted it upgrading to the output of the 120. Both units are now repaired and both have new output transformers. Have a unit that needs repair ?, link is in the bio

This solar Iboost plus was sent in for repair and it had gone bang!, it had really really gone bang !. I can’t say I’ve ever seen this diode explode like it had done before, can we fix it, will it ever heat water again !?……stay tuned !.

This solar Iboost plus was sent in by a customer for repair. They diagnosed blown fuse and shorter bridge rectifier, were they right !? .

This hotline Gemini electric fencer was sent in by a customer for repair. At first I just thought it was an SCR problem, as it wasn’t discharging at all, but just whistling. This means it’s making the high voltage (the fly back is whistling), but isn’t discharging it. I removed the SCR and it tested ok, so I traced the fault to the trigger transistor which triggers the mosfet gate. Once this was replaced it was back working. The output was very low though, so next the output transformer was replaced, after tweaking the pots for the output I was about to get it to 9.3kv , so ready to be deployed back into the field again. This solar Iboost + was send in by a customer. It would blow the fuse the moment it was plugged in. Inside it was pretty trashed, as when the igbt goes it tends to take a few things with it. On this one the gate resistor was fried and the bridge rectifier was also fried. One these had been changed the unit was fully tested on our test unit. If you have a unit that needs repair get in touch.

This Immersun a1060 was sent into me by a customer and they had the error code 8. This is usually caused by a short in the output circuit. I have fixed a few of these now, if you’d like yours fixing, contact me to send it in for repair.
