Ok, so please bare with me! I am going to be very honest and it will all come from the bottom of my heart. From one mummy to all of the lovely new likers... This is why I do what I do, and why this is so very important! Amelia was born on the 24th of September 2012 and from birth she remained in hospital for 16 very long weeks. The stay came with a diagnosis which will in turn affect Amelia's life for ever. Amelia was diagnosed with a condition called Congenital Hyperinsulinism. If you can spare another few minutes, please click on the link below to read about the condition. As a mum, I sat at Amelia's side and watched as she endured things no baby should ever endure. I would have taken her place at any moment! At home Daddy and big sister Ellie just wished that we could be at home, as we imagined, with a new born baby. The baby that I had given birth to weighing 10lb 6 was only getting bigger and we felt like we were being cheated out of that baby. How do you it Leanne? Is a question I get asked a lot and here is the honest bit. I can do it because of my focus, my focus being that if I do as much as I can to raise as much as I can. Just one day the money raised will help the researchers find a cure! I find the hospital trips agonising. At the moment I can not even step foot in Great Ormond Street because I torture myself that bad things happen when I'm there. The only thing I see is my baby on a ventilator, people touching her, poking her, scanning her, injecting her doing everything that in turn makes my heart break. This page is what takes my mind of those quiet moments. The moments where I become very angry at the world. Those moments where I ask what did we do for Amelia to suffer. I am a decent percent, a good mum! I love making things and I love being a mum, I do what I do for Amelia as she NEEDS it! and I'm her mum and Ellie is the most amazing sister
What I do on the page is to keep me focused, busy and to raise awareness. So thank you to all that have placed orders, that will place orders or just look out for us as I'm happy about what I am doing! # #
