If you're anything like me, it's been too hot to move the last couple of months but now it's finally cooled down and is actually RAINING why not call in and have a browse. We have our own carpark, it's dry inside, and even better, you get to play a lovely selection of pianos for as long as you like (or until we go home for the night). Don't forget, we're still open 10-5 on Thursdays and Fridays but are now appointment only on Saturday mornings!

Here we see one very happy and, we have to say, quite excited young lady playing her new baby grand for the first time in its new home this morning, where it looked and sounded absolutely fabulous. 😍

We’re pretty sure this is the tallest upright on our tuning list, which Chris tuned today and we’ve looked after for more than 20 years. It stands at 143cm or 4’8”, making it a “stander upper” for tuning, whereas we usually sit to tune. The piano has been in the same family since it was new in 1902!

In the excitement of letting you all know our new and improved opening hours I accidentally put the wrong date in my original post and Facebook in all its wisdom won't let me edit it! So, new appointment only Saturday mornings will come into effect from Saturday 15th August 2026. As all posts need pictures to grab people's attention, this one is featuring Basil, the 25 year old African grey parrot, who spent most of yesterday's tuning appointment trying to sing along with the piano (when he wasn't swearing at me)! 🤣

A Little Change to How We Welcome You on a Saturday!

As a family-run business, we've always wanted everyone who visits us to feel relaxed and never rushed. That's why we're moving to appointment-only visits on Saturday mornings.

We know that choosing a piano is a special decision, and we believe it's best done in a calm, quiet showroom where you can take your time. By booking an appointment, you'll have the whole showroom to yourselves, so you can play, compare, and enjoy the pianos without anyone else around.

We'll be there to answer any questions, offer advice if you want it, and make sure you have all the time you need to find the right piano for you.

Booking an appointment is easy—just give us a call or send us a message. We can't wait to welcome you and help you find a piano you'll love.

This change comes into effect from Saturday 22nd August 2026

It's been a busy few months here with this Steinway upright coming in for a full mechanical refurb including new hammers by Abel in Germany. It's now nearing completion and getting ready to make way for our next project, to be revealed soon!

We are really fortunate to have so many loyal customers, and some have been with us for generations.

One such customer owns this lovely Knight K20 upright, which we’ve been maintaining since the 1970s. Today, Chris tuned it for the 61st time!

That’s a remarkable milestone—for both the piano and Chris… although we’re not sure he’d appreciate us pointing out that it might mean he’s getting a bit older! 😊
