August the 8th is International Cat Day but we’re sadly lacking in feline features at the moment!

We do have some simply lovely meerkat triplets as an alternative however this 😻

Lots more fun items in store as we continue with Summer holiday ideas, including a rather stunning dolls house ☀️

August 4th was widely celebrated for many years being the birthday of our late queen’s mother.

HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (1900 - 2002) was the nation’s favourite nan 💜

We have a few royal themed item’s for sale in the shop currently, if you fancy a browse for a piece of regal nostalgia.

Somehow the time has flown again and it’s already August!

A full month of Summer holiday, school’s out fun and we hope you’re all enjoying the season so far? ☀️💜

As we welcome August we also discovered that the first seven days of this month is International Clown Week!

We’ve made a small tribute to this fact as we’re also aware that clown phobia is a thing and don’t want to scare any of our lovely customers! 🤡

The first Saturday of each month is Play Outside Day which is always a good reminder to take time away from our screens!

Paperback Book Day is celebrated on the 30th July to mark the first Penguin publications in the UK back in 1935.

Our adult paperback section is always popular with our great prices of 50p each or 3 for £1, and we always have a varied selection in our kids’ books area too.

Amongst the regulars, we’ve brought out some more Harry Potter from the stock room in honour of his birthday tomorrow, and there are a few joke & quiz books to make holiday journeys less tiresome!

Plus our World Book Day donations are just 20p each!
