🏁 British Kart Championship – Rotax | Round 4 | Whilton Mill
An extremely tough weekend result-wise for me & Dad, but we still had a fantastic time and, if anything, we’re more determined than ever to get on top of the issues we had and keep pushing our way further up the field. 💪
Qualifying: ❌ No time set
I didn’t get off the grid quickly enough and ended up stuck behind everyone going slow trying to roll over to gain track position. As a consequence, the engine oiled up and cut out, meaning no qualifying time.
Heat 1: P25 ➡️ P21 on track
A solid drive to make up a few places, but unfortunately I was DSQ’d for coming into Parc Fermé with a detached rear bumper — something we didn’t realise had happened at the time. 😩
Really frustrating, as without the DSQ we would have been promoted to around P18/P17.
Heat 2: P26 ➡️ P22 ➡️ P26
Managed to gain a few places in the opening laps after incidents ahead put some faster drivers behind me. I fought hard to hold them off, but unfortunately couldn’t fend them off over the final couple of laps.
Super Heat: P20 ➡️ P15 ➡️ P20 on track, P19 after penalties
Kept it clean from the start and managed to hang onto the back of the pack. Once again, we gained around 5–6 places through incidents ahead and I was feeling really good about a strong finish.
Then, with just 3 laps to go, the kart suddenly lost power and I had to pit with a fuel issue. 😩
Not the weekend we wanted on the results sheet, but there were definitely positives to take from it. We’re learning, we’re finding the problems and, most importantly, we’re not giving up.
A massive thank you to everyone who continues to support me and Dad on this journey. ❤️
Back to work now. Time to get this kart sorted and come back stronger. 🔧💪🏁
