On Tuesday I had the absolute pleasure of attending a workshop with Bryonia, exploring more sustainable ways to create large-scale floral installations - and I came home completely inspired.

We created this beautiful broken arch, using chicken wire and reusable mechanics rather than traditional floral foam. The result? A huge, statement piece that feels wild, abundant and completely at home in its surroundings, without creating unnecessary waste. 🌿

And the flowers… šŸ˜

We were lucky enough to work with the most beautiful seasonal blooms from Flower & Herb Farm, a micro flower farm just outside Glasgow. Growing seasonal flowers with sustainability at the heart of what they do, they’re helping to reduce the environmental impact of floristry while producing the most gorgeous, character-filled flowers.

It’s definitely got me thinking about how I can bring more of this into my own wedding and event work. šŸ¤

Planning a wedding, party or event and looking for something a little different?

Whether you’re dreaming of statement installations, arches, flowers for your tables or something completely bespoke, I’d love to hear what you’re imagining.

Twice this week I’ve heard someone say, ā€œSupermarket flowers are just as good as florist flowers.ā€

And honestly, if you’re picking up a bunch while doing the weekly shop, they absolutely have their place. They’re convenient, affordable and great for everyday flowers.

But I thought I’d share what you’re actually paying for when you choose an independent florist.

Before a single bouquet leaves my studio, every stem is conditioned, cleaned and prepared to help maximise its vase life. Many of the flowers we receive arrive much earlier in their natural blooming stage, meaning they continue to open and develop in your home over the following days. Rather than buying flowers that are already at their peak, you’re able to enjoy watching them bloom and change, often giving you longer-lasting enjoyment.

Floristry is about so much more than simply putting flowers together. I spend time choosing flowers that complement one another, balancing colour, texture and shape so each bouquet feels thoughtful and unique.

More importantly, flowers are personal. Whether it’s someone’s favourite rose, the scent that reminds them of their gran, or making sure we source a particular colour for a birthday, wedding or final farewell, every bouquet is created with that individual in mind. That’s something a shelf simply can’t do.

So this isn’t about saying supermarket flowers are bad. They absolutely have a place.

It’s about recognising that when you buy from a florist, you’re not just buying flowers. You’re investing in knowledge, craftsmanship, care, and someone who genuinely wants every bouquet to tell a story.

Sometimes the difference isn’t the flowers themselves—it’s everything that happens before they ever reach the vase. šŸ¤

I don’t think I’ll ever stop feeling honoured when families come back to me, time and time again, to help them celebrate the people they love.

This time, it was to celebrate the birthday of a truly gorgeous lady – the dancer in the family, who loved to laugh and left behind a legacy of wonderful children and grandchildren who continue in her footsteps, carrying a lifetime of beautiful memories of their much-loved mum and gran.

We created two arrangements: one from her husband and daughters, and another to complement it from her grandchildren.

Sending so much love to everyone celebrating a birthday in a way they never wished they would. šŸ¤

If I can help make any of life’s moments—whether joyful or heartbreaking—that little bit easier, my messages are always open.

I was beyond honoured to be asked to help a beautiful family celebrate their very special mum this week. šŸ¤

On the second anniversary of Christine’s passing, her family came together to honour her memory by visiting a place that held special meaning.

I created a miniature bouquet to match the bouquet the family took home, before they scattered the flowers into the sea in her memory.

It was such a thoughtful and personal way to remember someone so deeply loved, and I’m incredibly grateful to have played a small part in such a special tribute. šŸ¤

Today’s creations headed off for two very different reasons… šŸŽ“šŸ’œ

One to celebrate a graduation and all the exciting things to come, the other to wrap a friend in a little love and kindness.

Whatever the occasion, it’s a privilege to be part of your special moments. 🌸

The glamorous life of a one-woman business… 🤭🌸

By 10am today I’d already:
🐾 Dropped the dog at the groomers.
šŸŽ“ Delivered graduation flowers.
šŸ¤ Delivered flowers for a memorial.
🌻 Delivered a surprise for a sunflower lover.
šŸ’¼ Popped into the day job for something important.
šŸ’ And somehow still remembered to feed myself… eventually.

Running a small business alongside a full-time job isn’t always pretty. It’s early alarms, endless lists, replying to messages in supermarket queues and hoping you’ve remembered everything before you leave the house.

Some days I feel like I’m spinning plates… but then I get to hand over flowers that help celebrate, comfort and surprise people, and it reminds me exactly why I do it.

Thank you to everyone who supports this little one-woman show. Every order means more than you’ll ever know. 🩷

Right… who’s got ā€œsit down for five minutesā€ on today’s to-do list? šŸ˜‚

Making the very most of my final peony order of 2026. 🌸

This huge basket was SO much fun to create, overflowing with peonies, garden roses, scabious, carnations and all the prettiest summer blooms.

It was so big I had to rope my daughter into modelling it for me! šŸ’•

I think it’s safe to say peony season has gone out with a bang. What do you think? 🌸
