This is probably one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write. Yesterday we said goodbye to Barney 💔 if you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know he often snoozed in the corner of my studio and regularly popped in to say ‘Hi’ to Lily. This last week was incredibly hard for him and at 15.5 years old we knew the time was right to say goodbye. Thank you for being the best dog and most loyal studio companion. We loved you so much 🥰

GCSE season isn’t far away.
I spent last week invigilating core mock exams, and it reminded me of just how much pressure these students are under.
Not every bit of exam encouragement needs to be a poster on the wall.
If you teach Year 11, you already know what the next few months look like:
Revision sessions.
Extra support.
Quiet reassurance.
These were created for a teacher who wanted something small but personal for her class.
A practical keepsake.
Something they’ll actually use.
Something that quietly says, “I believe in you.”

I’ve had a Cricut Maker sitting in a box for three years.
And a Heidi Swapp foiling machine that barely got
touched.

Not because I didn’t know how to use them.� Not
because they were a bad investment. But because my
business wasn’t ready for them yet.

Now they’re part of my everyday process - working
together to create foil packaging stickers and details
that elevate my orders.

Sometimes growth isn’t about buying more. �It’s about
growing into what you already have.

If you’ve got something sitting in a box waiting…
maybe it’s just waiting for its season.

Running a business from home is a constant mix of chaos and concentration.
The oldest child is “sorting” her room.�The cat has fully resigned.�And I’m pretending this is a calm, curated workspace.
It’s not quiet.�It’s not aesthetic.�But after 8 years… it works.

I believe in doing things properly, even when it takes longer.

I believe the details matter more than trends.

I believe running a small business means doing your own research, finding your own way, and building something that’s actually yours.

I won’t share supplier or machinery details - not because I’m unkind, but because that learning was (and still is) part of my journey.

I believe practical, thoughtful products beat gimmicks every time.
