Marsden Road Community Centre will be hosting a Day Trip to
Scarborough
Tuesday 18th August 2026
8.00am - 6.30pm
Scarborough really does have it all; dramatic cliffs, award-winning beaches, historic harbour, great family attractions & a booming town centre. Scarborough is full of things to do, whatever the weather. Enjoy stunning beaches, promenades, gardens , Alpamare Waterpark, Scarborough Sealife and so much more.
There are many places to grab something to eat including Fish & Chips/ Cafe's/ Pub lunches & Restaurants (Not included in cost of day trip). There are also outdoor picnic spots if your bringing a packed lunch.

After the collision on the Tyne which spilled a billion nurdles into the river which have washed out to sea, our manager has decided to spend evenings clearing up the nurdles to help protect our wildlife.

Luckily, her daughter is happy to help too and there are many more volunteers giving their time to the clean up effort every morning and evening this week.

A massive thank you to all those people who are taking time out to protect our shore line and wildlife 🌊🦀🐟

Phones can be dropped off at Jarrow Mindset, Bilton Hall or Big Local Jarrow. Or alternatively, bring them here to Marsden Road Community Centre and we will pass them on.

A safe space for women to gain confidence.
You’ll learn practical, easy-to-remember techniques for real-life scenarios, including:
✅Releasing yourself from grabs, such as being held by the wrist, clothing, or hair.
✅Techniques to break free from chokes and strangulations.
✅Defending yourself if you’re pushed, pinned, or grabbed.

These are simple but powerful techniques designed to maximise your ability to protect yourself without relying on physical strength or advanced skills meaning our courses are accessible for any female.

🚫We do not grapple, kick or fight.
