A classical guitar based on a Mercelo Barbero design. Cocobolo back and sides, bocote headstock face and bridge, custom Barbero style rosette.

The guitar is currently “in the white” (has no finish on it) and is ready for my client to apply his own French polish finish.

Back in 2019 I made a travel tenor guitar for one of my loyal clients. He recently came to me with the challenge of creating a mandolin along the same lines. Nice and compact to enable him to travel with it in a suitcase.
15 3/4” scale length, flamed maple back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck, floating humbucker with onboard tone and volume controls.

Here’s something a little different to my usual guitars I build from scratch.
My client bought in this Ibanez RG1550 Prestige in a bad way (last few pics show how it was before).
I’ve heavily modified it with a new quilted maple top and headstock face, new pickup and switching configuration, extra rear cavity to enable no pickguard, full refinish, etc.
It’s one unique Ibanez!

Here we have a custom five string tenor classical guitar.
Based on the‘37 Hauser, the neck and bracing design have been adjusted for five strings with a 23” scale length.
A cutaway has been added for access to the upper frets and an LR Baggs Element pickup system fitted.
