It’s been really great getting to know Steve, who is a keen triathlete and absolutely loves his new Falath EXP. We can see why too, the Jewellery Blue with flashes of white looks class!

Steve has gone for a 45cm Falath EXP Sport with 380/100 AeroEvo carbon integrated bars, full Shimano 105 Di2 12 speed, lightweight OROME Valar SK45/50 wavy carbon wheels, Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V tyres and our 145mm OSSE Sport 3D printed saddle.

It’s a mega build and hopefully one that will see plenty of miles and races too! We also happen to know Steve has already got his eye on the new TF3 TT 👀😂

PLEASE JOIN US IN WELCOMING KATIE TO THE ELVES FAMILY. 💙🩵

Katie first came to us for a bike fit while taking on an incredible challenge. She has recently ridden every stage of the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift with one day ahead of the professional race, alongside lots of other riders, to raise money for Cure Leukaemia.

The cause is one that means a great deal to her, after a young member of her family was diagnosed with the disease last year.

Katie’s original bike was becoming increasingly uncomfortable over longer distances. It didn’t take long during the bike fit to realise that the bike simply wasn’t the right fit for her. That opened up a conversation about how we build every Elves bike around the rider from the very beginning, rather than expecting riders to spend money replacing components afterwards. This is an ongoing issue, especially for women wanting to achieve the right bike fit when the majority of bikes are built for men. This can of course be overcome if you go custom.

We are delighted that the difference has exceeded her expectations and giving her so much more comfort and performance, we know she will have tackled Mont Ventoux like a pro!

Kate’s bike has been built around a 46 cm Eglath ARX, with 360/90 handlebars, finished in a custom paint scheme chosen especially for her. It is equipped with Shimano 105 Di2, 160 mm cranks, a compact 50/34 chainset and an 11/36 cassette to help tackle the toughest climbs. An OSSE Sport 3D printed saddle keeps her comfortable over the long days in the saddle, while our TH30D wheelset, paired with 32 mm Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V tyres, completes a build designed for endurance, efficiency and confidence.

WHY A CUSTOM BUILD CAN ACTUALLY COST LESS 💭🚴

One of the biggest misconceptions in cycling is that a custom-built bike is always more expensive. In reality, it can often work out to offer way better value! When you buy a complete bike from many major brands, you're paying for a specification chosen by the manufacturer. That might include wheels you'll eventually upgrade, a saddle that doesn't suit you, handlebars you'll replace, or gearing that isn't quite right for the riding you do.

Already have a power meter, wheelset, saddle or groupset you love? Great, we can build around them. Prefer to invest more in the wheels and save on other components? No problem. Want the exact gearing for mountainous sportives, gravel racing or fast club rides? That's your choice. The result is often a bike that's better suited to you, without paying twice for parts you never wanted in the first place.

SECOND ELVES. SECOND CHAPTER. ❤️

Some posts are easier to write than others, and this is definitely one of them. So made up that Ben Perkins .1999 came back to us again for a custom build! It doesn’t get much more validating than that!

As a triathlete, Ben’s first build from us was the Amanyar, a stunning stealthy black weapon that has now seen a decent amount of transitions! Now as much as we LOVE this bike, and we really do by the way, hilly training weeks and lets be honest, even a weekend ride with your mates can be suited better to a road bike as opposed to the out and out beast that the Amanyar is!

So, Ben came back!

This time, his choice was the Eglath ARX, custom built in Gloss Chameleon Black/Red with Matt Rose Red, and built exactly the way he wanted it. Shimano 105 Di2, AeroEvo integrated carbon handlebars, our new lightweight OROME VALAR SK45/50D wavy wheels, OSSE 3D printed saddle, Vittoria tyres, and it looks class! Important to say, this is actually standard paint, the team in HK do a great job of putting these paints together.

Ben told us “I Started the Ironman journey with Elves last year with the Amanyar. The support from the elves team was unmatched and the bike was amazing - allowing me to not only compete but to really compete with the top of the field and most importantly fall in love with cycling.

This year, I wanted to see how I held up in the cycling world. I jumped straight into the deep end with marmottes - a 177km ride, with over 5,500m of elevation.

The bike flew up hills due to its incredibly light design and descended effortlessly. The day was super challenging with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, I don’t believe I would’ve completed the event without Elves.”

We cannot ask for anything more than that guys can we?!

Following the phenomenal global growth of Elves Bikes, we were incredibly fortunate to be invited to visit the factory for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the history of the brand, its philosophy, and the manufacturing processes that have driven its continued success.

Throughout our visit, we explored every stage of the customer journey, taking a deep dive into the test centre, carbon fibre lay-up, moulding, painting, finishing and quality control. It was a fascinating opportunity to witness first-hand the craftsmanship, technology and attention to detail that goes into every single Elves frame.

More importantly, it allowed us to follow the complete journey of an Elves customer, from the very beginning of production through to the finished frame, providing an authentic insight into how each frame comes to life. Having experienced the entire manufacturing process first-hand, it’s easy to see why Elves Bikes has continued to grow from strength to strength around the world.
