One thing about running a small business... there’s always another job waiting to be done. With the workshop getting too hot in the afternoons this week, I’ve been using the time to tackle some of the things I’ve been putting off for far too long. A bit of organising, a bit of tidying, and hopefully creating a workspace that’s a little less chaotic by the end of it all. Please tell me I’m not the only one with a never-ending to-do list!

This week’s forecast has definitely got me rethinking my routine. Earlier starts, cooler mornings, and trying to get as much made and packed as possible before the workshop heats up. I’ve added an extra day to my dispatch times just to give myself a little breathing room, but orders are still being made, packed and sent as normal. Running a small business means adapting when things don’t quite go to plan... and apparently this week that means planning my work around the weather! Has anyone else changed their routine because of the heat?

We thought we were treating ourselves on holiday...
Then Alfie ended up with Rick Stein fish & chips. With no fridge in the hotel room, sorting his usual food wasn’t the easiest, so safe to say he ended up being thoroughly spoilt instead. I don’t think he’ll accept ordinary holidays from now on.

Running a small business can be all-consuming at times, so every now and then it’s important to step away for a few hours and recharge. A little day out, some fresh air and a reminder that taking a break is productive too.

A pretty big change for me. After seeing pink tissue paper every single day for the last 4 years, I’ve finally switched to grey. I’m still getting used to it, but I think it suits the brand much better now. What do you think... do you like the grey?

There are definitely days when running a small business feels hard. Then there are days like this, where I stop for a moment and remember how lucky I am to do what I do.
