An inspiring time spent with the this weekend.

It’s such an honour to be able to support this great group and the young agents looking to create change in the neighbourhood.

If you give them the opportunity, the young people of the city will build a better future for you all.

Another Hoglands update…

The project is still ongoing, and we’re now at a stage where the council is exploring ways to deliver a space within the available budget. The original design we developed in partnership with —which has already gone through planning—may no longer be achievable in its exact form due to inflation and other factors. As a result, the council is now considering value engineering options.

We’ve been exploring opportunities to raise additional funds to support the project, but so far, these efforts haven’t been successful.

We’ve advised the council against switching from concrete to alternative materials. Instead, if changes are necessary, we’ve proposed removing complex fixed forms from the centre and open up the space with fixed features—such as banks, ledges, and transitions—around the perimeter, while decorating the centre with permanent but movable objects in a style similar to those at Finsbury Park.

We hope this approach will allow us to deliver a fun, flexible space for everyone—one that can evolve over time by rearranging obstacles and introducing new features as additional funds become available.

There’s no confirmed timeline for the next stage just yet, but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, we have some other exciting plans lined up for later this summer—stay tuned!

Christmas is coming 🎄 🎅🏻

You may be looking for a present for someone special or wanting to spend some ca$h gifts from your great aunts or awesome granddads.
We are asking that you look to spend your notes with your local skate shop.
We know that things might be tight but buying from your local skate shops means that you get more for your money.

The billionaires and faceless internet companies don’t need your ££s and they won’t have your back when you need them.

This week sees & compete in the Paris2024 Olympics. For and . We’ve been asked a few question about how to get to the Olympics.

There are men’s and women’s competitions in two disciplines- Street and Park.

In order to qualify for the Olympics you have to be ranked in the top 20 in the world. GB can’t just send their best skaters, you have to qualify by being one of the best in the world.

The two caveats to this are:
1- only 3 from one country. If you’re the fourth best from your country and in the top 20 unfortunately you miss out.
2- there must be at least one skater from every continent.

You get ranking points by competing in certain events. The better you do in these events, the more points you get, the higher you go up the rankings.

Based on how well their skaters did in the last Olympics, UKSport gave some funding to Skateboard GB, so that they could take more skaters to more qualifying events. A lot of the skaters gained valuable experience which will help them in future events. 3 of them gained enough points to qualify and will represent Team GB this week.
Lola and Sky will go in the women’s park event on Tuesday and Andy will go in the men’s park event on Wednesday

So tune in and cheer them on. It’s been a lot of hard work to get to this points. We are all proud of them all 🔥🛹🤘🙌❤️

Today was Skate Shop Day. A celebration of skater owned and skater run, independent skate shops around the country.

But if you’re a skater, are looking to get into skating, or buying for a skater, every day should be Skate Shop Day.

Skate shops are the beating heart of local communities.
They organise jams, get skateparks built, run lessons, give good advice, support those who need it.
You might save pennies shopping online, but it’ll cost more in the long run.

We are indebted and truly thankful for the love and support over the years 🙏👊❤️
