βWhat an amazing weekend at our Parker Baits Charity Social, helping raise loads of money for Mind Mental Health. Also seeing lots of people catch big fish and PBs being broken. After everyone headed home, I decided to stay on for a couple of nights fishing with my dad.
The hot weather made the fish incredibly difficult to catch during the day, so I was feeling much more hopeful going into the evening that Iβd have a better chance of a few bites fishing on the bottom.
After putting out 20 Spombs of Parker Baits goodness, I settled on fishing three of my favourite yellow pineapple pop-ups topped off with a couple of worms. That decision paid off with five fish overnight, the biggest going mid-30lb.
As lunchtime approached, I was just about to switch over to zigs for the day, but something was telling me to stick with fishing on the bottom. The moment I made that decision, my left rod absolutely screamed off, and after an unforgettable battle, I landed this absolute monster of a carp!
The scales went all the way around to 48lb!
To make it even more special, I got to share the moment with my dad, Sam Newman and his boy, Stanners. Itβs a memory Iβll treasure for the rest of my life.β
What a beast! Well done Rob π
