If a patient’s wish is to die in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, our Fair Havens Hospice at Home team can support the family by providing hospice care in their own home.

During the Coronavirus outbreak staff from our Fair Havens Hospice at Home team added additional home visits to their round to help us care for more people, since April referrals to this service increased by 30%.

Paula, Hospice at Home Sister, says “The Coronavirus has meant that many patients are choosing to stay at home with their family, because visiting is restricted in other healthcare settings.

“We want to demonstrate that people can get good hospice care, it’s possible to receive really good quality care to die peacefully at home and we can support this.”
