One year ago, we did not know that we would need to close our bookshop within the next 6 months.
As we stand at the end of a year of surprises and look forward to a new year, it might be wise to listen to the Apostle James's (Jacob's) advice: 'Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a v***r that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” '
It is so easy to forget the bigger picture that God has given us in His Word, isn't it, but do remember that: 1) The world was created by Him, is kept together by Him and will one day be renewed by Him. 2) We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, on what He has achieved for us and the future He has in mind for us. 3) Make every effort to stay in daily fellowship with Him.
