Art by Tracey Local Southport artist creating mixed media art in abstract and representational form People were shocked! What an odd combination. One teacher laughed.

I continued into further education in the late 70's to study Art and Computer Studies. Both subjects were a passion so I went for it. Little did they know at the time how these two subjects would and could easily combine in the coming years. Whilst looking after huge computer mainframe systems, and having access to some pretty powerful image creation and graphic design software, I had the opportun

ity to have the play around using my art and computer skills. Eventually this lead me on to completing a 2 year web design course at a local college. Who said Art and Computer Studies don't mix? More recently, I joined a local art class where my passion for drawing and painting resurfaced. For me, nothing beats scooping up that creamy, bright paint onto your brush and creating something on paper or canvas. I've since dabbled in all sorts of styles and mediums, and refuse to be restricted to any definitive style. Art isn't just for those who may know how to draw, art is for everyone!
