Here is Grandad Ernest Glendenning walking on Southport Pier with (from right to left as you look at the picture), my late, dad Alan, late uncle Peter and still very much with us, Uncle Eric (baby in arms). Ernest Glendenning had several shops within Southport town centre, one of which remains a going concern, selling to***co and a fine variety of sweets and gifts. It is presently run by a lovely gentleman called Kevin and you can find it on Lord Street more or less next to the Bold Hotel. My Mother's side, meanwhile, also had several shops in Southport, including Lord Street and Birkdale village.

It has been a few years now, but HEY - WE'RE BACK ;-)
