Welcome to Acorn and the Vine, the only independent Christian Bookshop in Portsmouth and Southsea.

We are here to serve the Christian Community throughout the city and beyond. Enjoy a cup or tea or coffee in the Coffee shop, a relaxed environment, as you look across Southsea Common towards the Solent and the Isle of Wight. There is nothing quite like being able to flick through a book, look at the
front and back covers and ask questions about as you select what to read next, or which book to give as a gift. We have a wide range of products such as books, CDs, gifts for all ages, cards, and devotionals. Included in this, is a huge selection of bibles in various translations, styles, and print sizes.

Our November book recommendation is here! 🎆📚
- Live No Lies by John Mark Comer -

Adam North, lead elder says this ⬇️

“Jesus came into the world not to condemn it busy to dave it. He came so that we would have life and have it in abundance. His death on the cross ensures this life goes on into eternity for those who believe. Yet, while we wait there is a battle for our affections that can rob us of the freedom, joy, purpose and abundance found living the God-life now. John Mark Comer looks at the enemy close up: the world, the flesh and the Devil. I know that seems pretty intense yet it is a reality worth exploring so that you don’t needlessly struggle with things that you can put strategies in place to overcome. You have one life here on earth, don’t wast it being defeated and beating yourself up. Remember John 16:33, in this world you will have trouble, be courageous! Jesus has overcome the world!”

Our October “Book Of The Month” is here! 🍁📚
-The Life You Never Expected by Andrew & Rachel Wilson-

Here’s what Dan Knapp ( Elder ) had to say about it ⬇️

“We all have a plan; a plan for how we think life will go, a plan for what we want to do, a plan for what we think our future will look like. But sometimes (if not always) things do not go exactly according to our plan! What happens when things change? What happens when things go really, really wrong and we’re left in a situation that we never saw coming and something that we never wanted to happen? “The Life You Never Expected” is a book written by Andrew and Rachel Wilson who are the parents to children with Autism and learning difficulties; their family looks different from the ‘plan’ that they had but have known the faithfulness of God throughout the challenges and struggles. This is a great book that draws you closer to the God who with us in whatever life throws our way, never leaves us, and even shows us joy when times are hardest.”
