My Brave Journey Journal

My Brave Journey Journal A journal for the incredibly brave children who are fighting cancer. Hi! My name is Kaiya. I was 5 ½. Things became very different.

A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with Leukaemia (my bone marrow wasn’t producing the right type of blood for me). To get me better, I needed a bone marrow transplant and it was scheduled just a few days before my 6th birthday. On the day I found out I had leukaemia, we were supposed to go on holiday so instead of heading to the airport we went by ambulance to Great Ormond Street Hospital. I

found that it was easier to sometimes write or draw how I was feeling or how I wanted things to be. I thought that it was maybe the same for other people, so I had the idea that I wanted to help other children like me. My idea was to create a journal where you can write about your thoughts and feelings. My parents tell me that everyone in this world has to go through a struggle. We just have to go through it a bit earlier than others. Even though it may not take away all the horrible bits, I hope this journal helps get you through your journey. Thank you to my two friends Ava and Anya for helping with this book.
