Why don’t we sell online?

We get asked this quite a lot.

The answer is surprisingly simple: we want to see you, not just be a mouse click. ❤️

We want you to smell the candles, pick things up, compare them, change your mind, ask us daft questions, have a chat and occasionally spend twenty minutes telling us something that has absolutely nothing to do with what you came in for. 😂

After more than 20 years, that’s still our favourite part of running a shop.

We’re not trying to be the biggest candle shop on the internet.

🎄 A little Christmas candle wisdom… 🕯️

As Christmas gets closer, candles and wax melts suddenly seem to appear everywhere — online, at Christmas markets, on social media and in seasonal pop-up shops.

And we love seeing people enjoying home fragrance. After all, we’ve been rather obsessed with it ourselves for more than 20 years! ❤️

But not all candles and melts are created equal.

A pretty shape and a lovely smell in the packet don’t necessarily tell you how well a product has been made, how long the fragrance will last when it’s actually being used, or whether the appropriate safety information and labelling is there.

So, wherever you buy your home fragrance this Christmas, buy with your nose AND your eyes 👀

Look for proper labelling and safety information. Buy from someone who knows the product they’re selling and can advise you on how to burn and/or melt.

At Magic by Candlelight, we’ve been doing this for over two decades. We know our products, we’re fussy about what makes it onto our shelves, and if we wouldn’t happily use it in our own homes, we don’t expect you to use it in yours.

No scare stories. No knocking the competition. Just good products, properly sold, by people who know a ridiculous amount about things that smell nice. 😂🕯️
