Yesterday we were told that Charles Owen will be ending all helmet production in the UK, and it has honestly left us feeling very emotional. This is not a temporary decision, it is a full and permanent closure of UK production and the loss of an incredibly skilled team.
UK production will stop completely in just over a month, which feels like a huge loss to our industry.
Roy from Charles Owen played a huge part in shaping our commitment to rider safety. His passion, knowledge, and pride in British manufacturing inspired our love of safety. Knowing that the helmets he helped build into a trusted name will no longer be made here feels like the end of a very special chapter that helped shape us.
Charles Owen will continue producing their EQx range from China, including the fantastic Kylo and Phoenix which we will keep offering alongside their protection and accessory line, but this closure does mean the end of their most popular UK-made helmets, which have been our staple hats for fittings for so many years.
We currently have around 130 hats left in stock, but once these are gone they will not be replaced.
